A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year - old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.
The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and
failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. 'We must do something about father,' said the son.
'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.' So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone..
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up. ' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless.
Then tears started to stream down their cheeks.
Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason,
neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens,
how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things:
a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents,
you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a 'life..'I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands.
You need to be able to throw something back
I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you
But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others,
your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone. People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

The cold breeze came by, all I felt was loneliness. Despite just being in my neighbouring country, I miss all our pillow talks, the long long pillow talks :(

God, I feel like he's in Tekong yet again. Busy day, facial in town, CNY last minute shopping for grocery & midnight pineapple tart baking.

Urm, I have a very strong feeling that the new movie starring Fann Wong & Christopher Lee will somehow has the same storyline and plot as Full House but we shall wait and see whether any originality comes out from this local production.

CNY's coming soon, another long weekend perks me up and brings me into the more chirppy mood. MS's subway has combined with Haato ice cream & today's their opening special, free small cup of ice cream for everyone. Thanks to my big mouth for spreading to everyone in my whole dept that we may not have anymore left for 2nd round. The girls are gonna kill me for sure!
Blogshop makes me feel so broke, hope my pay comes in anytime soon, I seriously need it :)
TGIF tomorrow, no netball for me because the bf's going back to Malaysia for CNY but no worries, my weekends are filled with lots of activities like facial, town shopping & last minute pineapple tarts baking (:

I'm down with sore throat and cough, bad germs but I will get well before CNY, I cant do injustice to myself for resisting all those goodies!

Lastly, a retarded picture of me taken by dearest! Thanks for accompanying me to that oh-so-boring talk but glad we enjoyed our dinner, The Soup Spoon's kinda to our liking. I love their tandori chicken, awesome shit, will be back for more (:

Dumb game suggested by Remy!

Carol's advanced 21st birthday bash last Saturday was filled with lots of catching up, gossips, laughters and the 4E7's culture of taboo game! & I declared that I still think I am very good with describing, unlike the guys, use hokkein! The night ended with 007 game of which I felt like the greatest loser on earth, drank 8 cups of water & 6 capsules of sourlemon! Mind you, the rule for the sweet eating was accumulated to 3 & eat it altogether, sour to the max! The person who suggested the sweets to replace the water was none other den me, myself & I but I was really uncomfortable by then! :( Credits to cheechee & HX for sending me home after that, especially at that holy hour! Hope everyone enjoyed themselves & that the birthday girl will like the presents from us (:

Work has been tiring & stressful because there's like about 897328731231 different kinds of risk types to learn from & every single one of them has different attributes & different calculation methods. Was whining that what I learnt from the job can never be compared to the knowledge I derived from textbooks because they're super dead. At work, its like live telecast because even 0.01% can affect the entire risk of the firm :( Precisely the reason why I cant leave office at 6am sharp everyday. I kinda miss the good old days with F3 & Father, stress free when it comes to issuer-linking. & now, my schedule is packed to the extreme plus lots of additional courses that comes knocking but one of them, in particular, will be of great help to me, Resolving Conflicts. HAHAHA!

Meimei's surprise party was indeed a success. Thanks to 3 pretty ladies for their attendance and punctuality, boy's efficiency as operations manager, daddy as driver, mummy & Hati for the food. I am also truly glad the girls didnt burn down my room because they were hiding inside with that sinful cake. Taboo & MJ but end the night early due to sch the following day.

Dinner last night at Astons AMK was great, love the coleslaw a lot but the company was even better (: Discussed lots about army, university enrolment and everything that we can crapped about but I want paintball ley, cant wait man, shall plan it with Kiat soon! Special thanks to Xav for sending us home.

Oh, did I even mentioned that the bank account has decreased even more tremendously due to recent upcoming birthday parties & CNY preparation. 24th please!

Currently, im so super engrossed in 5 people you meet in heaven but irritating, their ending comes right at the start. Tsk, very tempted to fish the book out of my bag now but not nice to create this bad impression so I shall stick to blog since it looks better to be typing den reading while waiting for IT to load my feeds.

Shall upload the pictures over the weekends but no promises.

Tsk tsk, im always in a bad mood and lazy to go to work whenever daddy refuses to fetch me there! Today was one good example ): & then my boss came back from LA and saw my RL bag & she's like, oh I can get it for you at a cheaper price, there're tonnes in LA :s But she's nice to feed me with chocolates, hope its not contaminated with melamine. I really anticipate Red Cliff 2 but I hate the leading actress, especially her fucking voice.

Now im contemplating & planning for my 21st, the magnificient number in everyone's life :)

Urgh, my new seat sucks because the duel screens are not as strategic as the past, the computer has speed of a tortoise, office has been seriously cold, no company of apong & no more iconnect khakis bored the hell out of me. Janesh's sitting ultra far away, nobody to gossip with because the 3 of them are always busy ): Guess I really need to be independent & slog harder, especially when the stress level at work increased tremendously, tsk tsk.

My 2 weeks break was fruitful, spent quantity time with family & friends, netball sessions for a healthy body but neglected bf a little due to my beauty sleep. Been spending quite a lot, shall start saving money for my part time studies. The recent loots include Sony Cybershot T700, C&K sandals, blog shop dresses for CNY, RL handbag, lingerie, lots of masks from FaceShop & mascara. Tsk tsk, all for CNY preparation which resulted in depreciation of bank accounts.

Went to our favourite restaurant for dinner with bf, BD (: Had rosti and steak but being clumsy, I toppled a bottle of chilli sauce, oh on! Super embarrassing but bf never fail to stay by me, how sweet! Poor him, had to go through guard duty for the next 2 nights which means nobody will be there to shower love on me & tuck me to bed. Boohoo!

Little Nyonya finally ended, didnt really had enough of it though. But I guess days ahead will only be filled with OT ): Shall be off for my HK drama, yayness!

Oh god, I have lost track of time and dates since I've seriously been enjoying my hols or rather, break from CS before the next tough period starts on 5jan, Im so dreading to wake up at 7am everyday. I even skipped my dental on the 29th just to make sure that I can fully enjoy myself and be immersed in all the wonderful festive goodies (:

28th was early wake up day to accompany the parents for Hong Xin dim sum but I reckon that Crystal Jade was way fabulous as compared to the overrated Hong Xin. Its ultra far & expensive ): Bugis to pray for blessings and home sweet home.

Met up with mummy and Jas on 30th to buy my RL using the DFS vouchers before cabbing over to Haji Lane for more shopping sprees. Both of them got something they like for CNY except me! & den I've got scammed by mummy for paying all her loots at TheFaceShop ): I merely wanted to get nail polish only, its freaking $2.90 but I ended up paying 20times more than that ): Tsk tsk tsk.

Mini dating session with bf on 31st before family reunion dinner. Shopped around AMK hub for New Year exchange presents but we found nothing, was supposed to catch a movie but missed the timing. Nice food with the family & somehow all the kids have changed in one way or another, except Jordan, he's still as childish & hyper. Mac ice cream resulted in checking out of uncle's car in the back alley which also leads to getting bitten by red ants. Bro's legs were covered entirely with red ants & action me tried to help him since its terrifying to see almost 100 of them crawling all over his legs. To my surprise, he didnt get bitten at all ): & Im left with this big lump, itchy to the max! Last min MJ session with Xav, Angeline & dearest bf. Modified the game a little, to my advantage since I cant count tais. Both of us had great teamwork & won money from Xav but he cheated me of my Toblerone cuz I left it at his place! But its like only the both of them playing since A & I dont have to pay for our own losses. Teeheehee, thanks bf (:

Slept till 4pm on New Year's Day, meet dearest for shopping. Bought an organiser from Times, bangles from Diva for Fana, bf bought the George Sorros' book and had Waraku pasta for dinner. My first try there, shall drop by again for more garlic & chilli added to my pasta. Cabbed home and tuck bf into bed before I catched the pre recorded Little Nyonya.

2 Jan was New Year's exchange at Siam Kitchen, waited a while for Sow before trying all my best to stall time since stupid lagger hasnt get her anything, tsk. CK has 30% discount, pissed off. Siam Kitchen no longer serves buffet lunch, sighs for Kim but their lunch buffet was still as great. Everyone loves their presents especially me, thanks Sow for the lovely black satin dress & Kimmie baby for the goodies from Japan & Hello Kitty organiser which I've prepared for 2010. Pick up sticks at Rockery & I think I sucked at it. Shall continue on the next meet up at Kim's house warming (: Will upload the pictures when I get hold of them from Lagger.

Netball session was cool last night with 'Coach' giving me lots of opportunities to shoot, evil twin trying to scoop the ball out of nowhere and Kel almost got hit on his head. The same exact finger was injuried yet again, blueblack joints ):

Off to prepare to meet bighead bf for my favourite yongtaufoo! Yayness, thanks darling :D
